REASONS TO HIRE A PUBLIC ADJUSTER
We represent YOU.
Representing yourself and dealing with an insurance company can be time consuming, confusing, intimidating, and frustrating. Most property owners do not have the time or expertise required to obtain an accurate settlement from the insurance company. Our goal is to obtain the fairest and most accurate settlement possible, so you do not have any out of pocket costs other than your deductible. We communicate and correspond with your insurance company on your behalf, and negotiate the scope and cost of repairs. With our construction and insurance knowledge we have the expertise to know what repairs will be required, and what repairs will cost. We work with your choice of contractor if you have one. We fight for YOU! We communicate with you every step of the way, and never settle a claim without your approval.
Greater Compensation
Perhaps the biggest benefit of all for hiring a Public Adjuster is that of greater compensation. In almost every instance, Public Adjusters have increased the insurance companies’ estimates. We find that often the insurance company adjusters lack the construction knowledge required to estimate the full cost of the repairs on your property, and they may omit items, or under estimate costs.
We assist you in reading your policy and understanding the coverages and deductible.
Understanding your insurance policy and all the details of what is covered, what is excluded, limitations, and deductibles can be very confusing. It is important to know what is covered, to be able to obtain an accurate settlement. We are experienced in reading and understanding policy language, and how it applies to your claim.
We work on commission only; no up front cost to you
Our fee is a percentage of the settlement amount. Furthermore, if you have received an initial estimate from the insurance company, you can hire a Public Adjuster to pursue additional funds for items the insurance company has omitted or under-estimated. In that case we only charge a percentage fee of the additional funds we obtain for you.
Communication
One of the hardest things about going through an insurance claim is communicating with your insurance company. The insurance claim representative may or may not return phone calls or emails, and correspondence is often intimidating and confusing. As your representative, we communicate with your insurance company, meet adjusters at your property, and negotiate settlements so you don’t have to do any of that. Usually, this takes the pressure, obligation, and emotion out of the insurance process.
Accelerated Insurance Process
Insurance companies are notorious for being slow in responding, and not returning phone calls or emails. We can speed up the process by regularly contacting the insurance company for updates, meetings, negotiations, and payments. This means that the money is in your pocket sooner, the stress of the ordeal is over faster, and you can restart your life sooner.
Personal Property Damage Inventory
If you have damage to personal property, your insurance company will most likely require you to separate damaged from undamaged items, and provide an inventory of the damaged personal property, along with photos, purchase costs, ages of each item, and where items were purchased. Documenting the entire contents of your home with ages and pricing is very time consuming, overwhelming, and stressful. We have the expertise to make the process smoother and faster, and the expertise to document your loss properly so you get paid the accurate costs.
Connections to Contractors and Vendors
We work closely with many companies related to the insurance claim industry. We can assist you in finding and vetting temporary housing accommodation companies, restoration companies, contractors, attorneys, and other vendors to make the process smoother, less time consuming, and less stressful. After a storm, there will be honest and dishonest contractors in the area. It is important to check references, and know who you are allowing on your property, and who you hire. We can assist you through that process and reduce the chances you might be taken advantage of.
